After assessments with consultants at the hospital, the consultant wrote back to my GP asking for them to re-refer me to various other specialisms within the local NHS. My regular GP was away on holiday and the GP receiving and reading the letter from the consultant on behalf of the practice chose to wait for my regular GP to return from holiday for this GP to determine ‘is this worth a referral to the specialisms?’. This delayed 2 weeks and wasn’t a choice for the GP’s to make it was an instruction from the consultant that shouldn’t have been delayed 2 weeks. This has now resulted in a very long wait to enable me to access the specialist services. In this case decisions were made about me without me.

Appointment availability used to be really good. However getting a routine appointment is now more difficult and nearly always nearly a week (or more) in advance. Getting an appointment with the nurse is even worse. I don't know what the problem is but it never used to be like this. Staff also seem to have all changed and the friendly atmosphere the surgery once exuded is no longer present. Such a shame.

This surgery used to be great and you could easily get an appointment with any of the services / health professionals. Now, at times, it can be a 1 week wait for a routine GP appointment and 10 days for a nurse appointment. Look for an alternative GP surgery if you can.

The people in this surgery are friendly but it looks a mess when you walk in. Posters are all over, leaflets are messy and out of date. The is often out of date information on the walls. The new self check in screen has a tatty bit of paper saying have a go and use it. Just little things to make this more pleasing on the eye like laminated signs etc. would be good. The reception staff are always helpful and will go above and beyond to help you. The other staff are also usually quite friendly, especially the person who takes blood. It is easy to see a doctor usually and you don't have to wait too long. The doctors seem very knowledgable especially Dr. Rap and Dr. Harley.
