So I phoned up for an appointment the receptionist asks what is the problem? I reply by telling her my bum keeps itching I have checked for worms and can’t find any and before I could even get to the end off my sentence/explanation she says ok Iv booked you in with dr lynn at 1:15pm. I replied ok thank you. I arrived at the doctors on time and put my name and date of birth into the self bookin but it said check details are correct no appointment booked with them details so I went to the receptionist and told her she said what’s your name so I told her and she said “oh yes the doctor won’t see because you said you had worms the doctor said you need to go to the pharmacy” so I said “no! I never said I had worms and the receptionist said yes you did. At this point I was fuming!!! Ready to explode I replied no I did not I said my bum keeps itching I have checked for worms but can’t find any and I was going to say more I was going to say I v been taking worm medication every week but it’s not working and I also have a lot of mucus in my anus. But unfortunately I never got chance to fully explain because the impatient receptionist never gave me chance to fully explain myself

  • Take time to listen to your patients. Don’t rush because you can’t be bothered to listen! Not listening is not going to make you finish your shift any quicker so in future take the take to sit and listen and take as much information of the patient as possible the ensure the best care possible!

My wife tried to get me an urgent appointment following a consultation with 111 who said I needed to see someone within an hour. The Rossington Practice received the notes from 111 which had a note of „suspected covid“ however I had already explained I had a negative LFT during my consultation. At no point did I get to speak to a doctor at The Rossington Practice only the receptionist, the doctor was clearly focused on „covid“ and ringing 119 instead of speaking to me directly. I explained my reasons of why I believed it was not covid, that I had a negative LFT and would like to speak to a doctor. The receptionist finished the call to speak to a doctor, we then received a text saying they had tried to contact (which they had not at all) saying notes say suspected covid ring 119. Ended up waiting for out of hours, rang 111. Got a ring back from on call out of hours doctor who was extremely helpful. I went through the issue and symptoms explained and discussed negative LFT. Took less than 5 minutes and was booked an appointment at Urgent treatment at DRI. Appointment at urgent treatment took 5 minutes and was throat and ear infection, Antibiotics prescription received.

Suggested improvements
  • The Rossington Practice are not a patient focussed GP surgery, as can be seen above my issue was not COVID related and could have been quickly resolved at my local surgery if the Doctor had actually taken the time to get in touch.

The surgery is run very well with excellent reception staff. Having moved recently from the south of England I find the availability of appointments and the care from the medical staff far superior to the way I was treated at my old surgery in Milton Keynes. Keep up the excellent standard.

The doctor actually sent me to the dentist for an ear infection and recommended that I take ibuprofen for the pain evan though I suffer from asthma. Dont trust these doctors

The staff and Doctors are always professional and caring. Some reviews on here are inaccurate. I have had problems with prescriptions before but the staff go out of their way to sort it for me. The Practice Manager listens to people and tries her best to resolve any problems. People should understand that rules and regulations are in place for a reason and should understand that the staff are only doing their job.

DR Singh has always be very helpful with me and given me the best care. However when i couldn't get in and had to see DR Deharn he was very rude and I had to complain and suggest he sent me for blood tests otherwise he wouldn't have been doing them and in fact it did come back that I needed tablets etc. Cannot fault the nurses, DR Singh and the female doctor.

Dr Thaver is amazing although you really struggle to get an appointment with her. I've been to see various other ones at this practice and wouldn't recommend any of them (sad but true) I don't feel the need to name them but for various reasons I wouldn't want to see them. Abrupt Uninterested Rude I could go on .. We need more Drs like Dr Thaver

I used to be a patient at this practice until I left due to a certain doctor speaking to me very unprofessionally and rudely. I would not return as even though many people have complained about this doctor he is still there.

Not a very pleasant atmosphere in the practice just tiled floor cold and not very welcoming especially when you are feeling ill. I viseted this practice 4 times in a week n toilet not working Some of doctors find it hard to make a decision and as for a appointment 30 mins i waited one day it would have been quiker to go to dri. And most occisions you have to wait up to 2 weeks to see a doctor of your choice the only thing i can say positive onoit this practice is most of the receptionist are very helpfull

Dr Thaver is lovely, caring and professional. I like Dr Singh too but sometimes feel he is 'elsewhere ' when disgussing problems. Not keen on seeing the other Dr's as feel they are not interested or upto date with medicines etc. they don't seem to want to look further into illnesses if results come back ok yet I still felt in pain occasionally. The nurses are cheery, the receptionists I see are nice n helpful. I don't like how reception is too public and health issues are discussed there. Getting an appt with the follow on group or follow on counsellor after seeing the onsite counsellor is a joke. It takes far too long. My kids have been mis diagnosed many times by both older Drs and iv had to insist things. Sorry about negatives but it has to be said.
