My mother contacted the surgery to request an appointment following advice from a consultant at St Thomas' Hospital to discuss her pain medication. She was experiencing significant discomfort at the time; however, the receptionist adopted an unhelpful and dismissive attitude, insisting that no appointment could be scheduled without first receiving documentation from the hospital, despite the consultant’s clear verbal recommendation. There was a notable lack of empathy in how the situation was handled, and the importance of my mother’s condition was not given due consideration. It appeared that the receptionist was more focused on maintaining her position than on providing appropriate support, and her tone at times felt unnecessarily confrontational. When this did not provoke the response she may have anticipated, she proceeded to terminate the call. This is a service that directly impacts people’s health and wellbeing, and such conduct raises serious concerns about how many other patients may have been similarly affected or placed at risk due to this approach.

Four hour wait to see a doctor

Average waiting time at their walk-in surgeries is 2.5 hours - OK, that's a guess based on the fact that I've always waited around 3 hours but assume people who queued all night probably waited less. No, it's not possible to get an appointment - other than one in 4 weeks time. I really think you could find a computer software system that would allow people to phone and get an appointment, so they could do something more useful with their morning than sit in a doctors' surgery. Other surgeries have it! (Once you actually get into see a doctor, it's all good.)

I was very unwell and didn't want to go to A&E during the weekend but went to the GO on Monday morning, waited 2.5 hours to get seen! Some patients that arrived after me were seen before me. So disappointed with the service, the receptionist at the time of my arrival was on of the nurses and haven been seen by her before I know how rude she is. This GP needs to improve this timing is unacceptable.

This has been my GP for over 15 years. As I get older I depend on them more and staff are generally courteous and the medical care is personal and attentive. The walk-in clinic starting at 8am is generally how I access services.

My experience at Lambeth Walk Group Practice on 23 February 2015 was excellent. I had a pain that was causing me considerable concern. I didn't have an appointment as it was recent but was seen within 40 minutes by Dr Flett. I was examined and no serious symptoms were found. To be extra careful I was given a referral for a blood test at St Thomas' hospital to rule out anything serious. I received the results the following day and given advice the whole business was efficient and quick. I am very pleased with the speed and efficiency of the treatment.
