I have started immunosuppression therapy in advance of organ transplant. I have been trying to get vaccinated for several weeks, over two months, and had to go back and forth to get letters from my consultant to "prove" this to the satisfaction of Falcon Road's nurse practitioner. This time lapse means I have missed the 'flu vaccine season (ends 31st March) - so I'm not covered. Further, my request for HPV vaccination has been declined. I was told, erroneously, that pub is covered in Chapter 17 of the Green Book (it's actually Chapter 18a) and a one injection protocol, is no longer offered. It is intact a three shot protocol, and it is indeed still offered. It took me over a month to get an appointment, and almost another month for that appointment to arrive, this morning, and I am quite cross. I am moving GP practices - this time delay is utterly unacceptable, and the practice's response is a baffled shrug of the shoulders. Of course I have had a bad experience, chose for yourselves, but this has been my experience.
