First, the appointments system is not fit for purpose. You can ONLY get an appt on the day, and this means ringing at 08.30 even if that is the middle of the night for you. Usually you cannot get through at all, and when you finally give up and try later, all the appts on the day are gone. But that's the only kind there is. It is ridiculous. Usually I just want an appt sometime in the next couple of weeks - but they do not exist at this practice. Second, there seem to be only 2 or 3 doctors on duty at any given time. The waiting room rarely has more than 3 or 4 patients. With around 8 GPs, why can the practice not manage more appts than this? Third, most of the doctors broadcast a tremendous sense of wanting you to leave as fast as possible. In your haste you can forget what you wanted to say, or fail to describe things clearly. Fourth, the practice has a locked door and you can only gain entry after being vetted by reception staff at a prison-visitor window. This closed system began during Covid but has never been lifted. It is so unwelcoming. Fifth, the waiting room is cold, barren and uncomfortable, with hard black chairs and nothing to read other than a few posters on the wall. Again, this began during Covid but has never been lifted.

Eyre Medical is an excellent practice. I am sorry I had to leave it, due to a move out of the area.
