They gave me their lead gp who refused to help me with any of my anxiety, depression, autism problems in an area that is notorious for its violence. No matter how many times I asked their practise manager I was ignored. So in the end I had to find another gp surgery for my own personal safety and the new surgery helped me.

Suggested improvements
  • You need a new lead gp and a new practise manager. In such a notorious area for its drugs related violence refusing to deal with all the anxiety/depression caused by it is endangering patient lives

I do not usually write reviews but happened to read the bad comments about Eastfield Clinic and must balance the reviews. I and my family have been patients since 1971 and cannot thank the staff enough over all this time for giving such excellent service. Unfortunately I was involved with the practice far more than I would have liked last year due to Long Covid. In England there were Covid clinics but here the G.P's had to take the full burden. I can see the doctors and nurses have a much bigger work load with the new housing which has added stress, but nonetheless I was cared for with the same professionalism and respect as always. Thank you to all the staff.

Suggested improvements
  • I think it a great shame pressure of work means you cannot see a Dr face to face more often. This is not a complaint against this practice, just the system.

My daughter, a hardworking nurse, telephoned the practice (7 times before getting through) as her daughter, aged 14 months, had developed conjunctivitis overnight. As my daughter had to go to work, I went to pick up the prescription. I took it to 2 chemists, who confirmed that the medicine is no longer available in eyedrop form, as per the prescription. It was only made as an ointment, and an amended prescription would have to be issued before they could let me have it. I returned to the practice, who told me that nothing could be done - the baby would just have to suffer until tomorrow evening, when a revised prescription could be issued. I told them I was taking the baby straight to the "Sick Kids" hospital, they told me that I couldn't do this, as it was not an emergency. 5 minutes later, they rang to say that they could amend the prescription after all, and I could come to pick it up. i did so, and obtained the ointment, but why did I have to kick up a fuss before any action was taken? Why did the Doctor prescribe something that was no longer made? i have never dealt with such incompetent "jobsworths" since I last had contact with "British Gas"!

Suggested improvements
  • Given a decent service, without me having to kick up a fuss.

Constantly sign posted elsewhere, what are these people paid for. Not surprised to find out it was a private practice

Extremely difficult to get an appointment with a doctor now, the usual constant response now is that they are redirecting health care problems. While I can appreciate that for simple things the pharmacy will do, sometime it is not the case. I consider myself to be one of those people that use health care services appropriately, I wouldn't dream of asking for an appointment just because I had a sore red throat or had stubbed my toe. Nor am I one of the hundreds of patients that book an appointment every month and just don't turn up for it, instead of having the decency to cancel it so someone else in need can have it. Why are they not removing these kinds of people from their list as it states on their website? It is the decent people who use the service appropriately and who if they then no longer need the appointment, cancel it so someone else can have it that are being punished by their new system. I think I will seriously have to consider registering else where

You now have to get passed the receptionist, continually fobbed off to the pharmacy. What might appear to be a minor problem isn't always, as in this case was a serious medical issue. Seems the doctors in this practice like to sit around doing nothing all day, was in the practice after having to demand appointment and low and behold sitting there for an HOUR to find doctors with room doors all open doing nothing and no other patients in the practice. These people are paid to do a job they should do it, instead of robbing people off to the pharmacy
