Whenever I contact the surgery I have little chance of getting an appointment and when I do it is never with a Doctor who is aware of my medical history. Due to this I had a phone appointment in April 2002 where I stated that I believed that an artery in my leg was blocked. I ended up with an appointment 6 months later which confirmed my suspicion but due to the delay nothing could be done about it. Thanks a Lot. I now have severe mobility problems.

I called at 11.10 today and selected a call back 12 45 still no call back. I called again and waited eventually got through spoke with a receptionist told her my symptoms and was advised no appointments to day call tomorrow morning , was not asked my name and so I can only assume they’re not interested . I had waited a week hoping I would feel better and not waste their time

They have taken down online appointments and you have to phone and hold for over an hour only to be told there are no appointments and to phone tomorrow

After years of trying to get past the most unhelpful,dismissive abrupt and borderline rude receptionist,today I spoke to a young girl who was polite, helpful, patience and understanding,the whole experience left me calm and not tied up in anxiety.So I just wanted to say thank you,,,at last

Been a patient all my life, and the doctors and nurses are excellent, as they always have been. But the current receptionists are the worst receptionists I have ever experienced. Rude, dismissive and deliberately unhelpful. It's impossible to get an appointment and get constantly fobbed off buy a woman with absolutely zero customer service skills. If you ask to speak to the practice manager, you're constantly told she's not availible at present. My wife has been trying for weeks to get an appointment as she's bleeding heavily and is now anemic. But just gets dismissive ecuse after excuse, Today on calling back a 2nd time the receptionist pretended not to be able to hear the caller and hung up. My wife called back on another phone, and after explaining why she was calling, got the same 'unable to hear you' treatment!! I'm a cancer patient and also have kidney failure, with thrice weekly dialysis. This leads to lots of other problems that I'm supposed to go to my GP to help with. But I hace given up even trying to see my GP, as I'd rather suffer the side effects of the treatment than deal with receptionist at Devon Rd Surgery any more.

I am very happy with the medical treatment from the doctors; it's the ancillary staff who are disappointing. We had several major issues at the beginning of the year which resulted in new procedures being introduced in the practice. I have to have regular blood tests. Last month I waited over half an hour as, the phlebotomist said, she didn't know I was there. Today I arrived on time, and when the entry phone was answered I was told I didn't have an appointment. I said I made it weeks ago, and put the details straight into my diary, and the date had stuck as it is a family birthday. She told me my appointment was for 2 days ago, and I should have got a textmessage. I said it wasn't, and I didn't get a text message,that it was NOT my error and I had to have a test so that I could get my next precription for Methotrexate. I was told the phlebotomist would squeeze me in but I might have to wait a few minutes. I waited over 20 minutes. The phlebotomist said it had been hectic as they had cancelled one of the clinics on Monday due to a phlebotomist being off sick and appointments had been re-arranged to today. I asked why that had affected me; she didn't know. None of it made sense to meor was convincing.

I have never had a bad experience with Devon Road Surgery, Dr Auckloo, is an amazing Dr and has helped me through a very tough 2 years. Caring and understanding, an asset to the surgery.
