Absolutely shocking service. This has happened to myself and several of my friends. I’d been struggling with my mood/panic attacks for a few months or so and my boyfriend made me go to the doctors to see if they could help, I was in there for a matter of minutes, was given a prescription for antidepressants and left. They didn’t tell me that once you start antidepressants you have to stay on them for at least a year after you first start feeling better. Now, the first line treatment for depression and anxiety is talking therapies, unless it’s really severe (e.g. suicidal thoughts), throwing antidepressants at a uni student who’s struggling is not going to help them, especially when not given advice or asked to come back. One of my friends went to this doctors the other day to get an ECF for their exam as they missed it, so to get this ECF they ran to the surgery and the doctor thought that because they were sweating and their heart rate was elevated they must have anxiety, so they were given propranolol. This isn’t how you should treat people with issues like this you have to actually talk to them! Lastly, to get an appointment you have to call up at 8am on the dot to get one for that day but by the time you get through there are no appointments left. Please don’t go to this surgery the standard of care is actually worrying and can really affect you.

Response from the doctor - Dear Patient Thank you for making your concerns known to us via this forum, unfortunately posting anonymous comments does not gives us the opportunity to address yours or your friends concerns. We are always happy to discuss any areas of dissatisfaction with any of our patients. If you think this would be a better means of resolving your issue please email the Practice Management Team @ srccg.surgery-manger@nhs.net. Of note: we now run a telephone triage service so on calling at 8am (or after) you will be booked for a phone call with the GP who on discussing your issue will either sort out your problem over the telephone or give you a face to face appointment the same day. This service allows us to deal with many more patients daily and meeting the continually increasing demand on our service. Kind regards Catherine Guscott Manager

I was very anxious about a cervical smear test. But I had a lovely nurse named Sally. I was really worried when I went into the doctors, she was very calm, professional and put me at ease. I would encourage all girls who are hesitant about a smear to just go for it! . Thank you very much,

Every time I order my medications, I am given the wrong items and have to spend the next few days trying to fix it. Receptionists don't seem to care when I ring or go in to try to get help, and leave me feeling embarassed. Given that I can barely walk and suffer from severe fatigue and seizures, I would hope to at least be given some sympathy when trying to fix their mistakes, but patients are treated like an inconvenience instead of people that need help.

One of the things that myself and my family are amazed at is that all of the staff remember our names and also that of fellow patients in the waiting room.

All the doctors are friendly, caring, yet highly professional. Waiting times can over run, but that is understandable as patients are not rushed through. You feel that you have been listened to and helped. Receptionists are equally friendly and professional and do not act as bouncers for the doctors. Practice nurse equally as good. The practice has a multi cultural patients and are especially good for people from the former Soviet Union, Ukrainians, Polish etc.
