The care was brilliant, if I ever had and queries or problems they was sorted pretty much straight away. It was nice to know I could just send a text if I needed any advice/help at all. Nothing was to much trouble to Karen and was always spot on. She gave me the correct information when needed and was always giving good tips to help me along the way. The service form Karen was brilliant.

I have met with Karen now on several occasions and after each visit felt very reassured by her advice/experience. She is very polite, friendly, accommodating and helpful with ordering any products she feels may suite my needs.
I would definitely recommend Karen and would feel very comfortable in contacting her if needed.

Karen was just who I needed at a vulnerable time. She was very encouraging, supportive and knowledgeable and gave me some confidence from our first meeting.
She has been available as and when required and has provided invaluable contacts and advice.
She has been flexible in arranging visits which has been really helpful.
I feel fortunate to have Karen as my Stomer nurse.

Karen was my after care stoma nurse and supply set up connection all of which she did with no fuss or bother to add to this she was understanding of the problems faced by new stoma patients and was a great teacher and adviser

Profile
Karen Totty is a Stoma Specialist Nurse who has worked in the NHS and private sector since qualifying as a State Enrolled nurse in 1986 and then a Registered General Nurse in 1989. During this time Karen has developed a vast wealth of knowledge and skills within the Colorectal Surgical Speciality.
Karen began her Stoma career in 2001 as a Colorectal/Stoma Specialist Nurse, at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. In 2007 she ventured out into the community as a Stoma Specialist Nurse working for Wilkinson Healthcare and then Fittleworth Medical. In November 2023, Karen moved over to the Nottingham Appliance Management Service (NAMS), as a Stoma Specialist Nurse and Prescriber. She works closely with NHS Specialist Stoma Nurses and other Health Professionals to provide individualised care and support to patients using the NAMS Service.
In her free time Karen is a keen gardener and enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks and travelling at home and abroad.
