Mr Crawford performed spinal surgery on me in August this year. He explained each step of the progress and listened to my concerns. I felt as if I, as his patient, was important to him and this continued throughout my time on the ward and even when I went for my follow-up appointment in October. He could not have been more reassuring or kinder to me even though I know how busy he was. I overheard the previous patient who he reviewed say to her family how reassured she was so I do not feel this is out of character for this person. His whole team appear to have the same ethos, doctors, anesthetist and the ward staff where I stayed for 5 days.

In addition to the expert medical care I received from Mr. Crawford, I found his personal relationship skills to be exceptional. Once I decided to seek private advice and treatment for longstanding back and nerve pain I was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Crawford. His diagnostic approach was deliberate, thorough and reassuring. We met several times, giving me the opportunity to ask every question that came up for me. Mr. Crawford was unfailingly clear and supportive in response to my queries. He delved into my lifestyle, expectations and plans for the future. With this information we were able to arrive at an appropriate schedule for my surgery and recovery period. With the knowledge I have now I would have had this surgery for posterior lumbar fusion and decompression a long time ago. The results are excellent and I’ve regained a mobility that was lost for years.

A huge thank you to Mr Crawford. I was in agony with nerve root pressure due to degenerative discs. I've just been discharged following a two level spinal fusion. The outcome is truly amazing. Mr Crawford is a brilliant surgeon, kind and very helpful. I would definitely recommend him for spinal surgery.

Mr Crawford gave me the best Christmas present ever - to be pain-free! I had been suffering with back and sciatica type pains for a couple of years. I just could not get my GP to send me for an MRI as a diagnostic measure on the NHS due to lack of funding so I went privately and, at last, an MRI revealed that I had quite a herniated disc in the lumbar region. Had I waited any longer, I would have gone into retention due to the disc pressing on nerves which would have been an NHS A&E rush. I just felt that this very important diagnostic imaging was a necessity and I was denied it from my surgery. However, Mr Crawford was swift in getting me in for surgery which was delayed a bit by the discovery of a cardiac problem that his very able anaesthetist spotted, but once all this was sorted, I went in for a microdiscectomy under Mr Crawford's expert care. He is very caring, took the time to listen to me and answered all my questions. He is very modest and I felt totally at ease with him and trusted him to the hilt. I had such amazing care under this surgeon. Such a great professional and such a kind man. My first few weeks of recovery were painful but then, as Mr Crawford told me, I improved and the almost crippling pain I had been suffering with for such a long time finally went away. I was being treated for all the wrong things at my GP surgery but finally Mr Crawford found the problem and sorted it out for me. I can't thank him enough. I would recommend Mr Crawford to anyone.
