Dr Aye began to impress me as soon as he came to wheel me in to his consulting room. He made me feel very relaxed, and included my husband in all the discussion (which I was very happy about). I had already been diagnosed as having two fractured vertebrae as well as bursitis in one hip, and was being investigated for nausea and eating disorder. I am a 78 years old woman and do like to find out as much as possible about my illness. Dr Aye listened to what I thought could be wrong. My back and eating problems started more or less together and I had lost two stone in weight (10.5 to 8.5 stone in 12 weeks). Dr Aye voiced an opinion which was similar to my and my family's thoughts, that my symptoms were in part due to a mis-shapen chest wall. Having had a DXA scan before seeing Dr Aye he has arranged for me to have annual zolendronic acid infusions. Since seeing Dr Aye, I have had upper endoscopy and sliding hiatus hernia found; also seen neurosurgeon and had spinal MRI. Now awaiting MDT decicions for possible vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty. Dr Aye's work and care is excellent. My experience leads me to believe that waiting times could be improved if investigations and tests could be better arranged or co-ordinated. e.g. patient has back pains, go to x-ray not physio, then to MRI or physio, then to MDT as necessary and a speedier decision as necessary for treatment.
