I had to chase for answers which were however freely given. Being given a trolley was a definite improvement on being sat in a chair even if in a corridor

Being given a iv dose of morphine and then immediately discharged I felt was even though I have had morphine in the past felt unsafe.

Had a very long wait before my procedure without any explanation of what was going on. After fours wait, I was then informed that my operation may not go ahead if a theatre space could not be found. I was also told that a doctor would come and speak to me after the operation, which never happened….felt very disappointed about this. Also considering that I had been on a two weeks oncology wait, I feel rather disappointed to be told that the results would take up to four weeks to receive.

Communicated more with (me) the patient to update about the long wait. A Doctor or medic to speak to me after the surgery about the initial outcome of the procedure. On an oncology wait, the results of the surgery should be made much earlier than four weeks.

As I attended the appointment and told to go to the nurses on duty, all 3 were sat there seemingly at a loose end. The nurse who undertook my observations did not introduce herself to me which I find unusual being a nurse myself.

For the nursing staff to be a bit more compassionate

I was seen promptly and in a friendly manner. The doctor, after giving my eyes a thorough examination offered me the opportunity of a cataract operation on my left eyes within the next few months. What's not to like about that!

I was early for my appointment and expected to have a 45 minute wait. I was called by the nurse to be weighed, take blood pressure etc.. immediately. A very caring and chatty nurse who was very lovely. I was then called to see the consultant straight after so had no waiting time at all. My appointment was a follow up appointment and I was listened to very carefully whilst I described what had been happening with my health. A student was present who was very nice and easy to talk too. Mr Menon is so empathic and listens to his patients. I can honestly say my experience was outstanding today. I also want to mention the lovely member of staff on the reception desk who was very informative. A very well run department with wonderful staff :)
