I feel totally blessed to have received such outstanding and ongoing care from Dr. Jacob and his team. From the onset, everything was explained in detail, my mind put at ease and have been made to feel valued throughout. All correspondence was followed up swiftly and there has been excellent communication between all medical parties involved in my case. I’m so thankful for all of the support I have received.

Before I was taken to the operating theatre for surgery for a total left knee replacement Mr Jacob came to see me and ask if I had any questions. Mr Jacob made me feel at ease and confident in him. Immediately after the operation as I awoke Mr Jacob spoke with me and said everything went well which made me feel very happy. I was taken back to the ward and in the evening Mr Jacob came to see me to see if I was ok and explained that the Physio would see me next day to get me up on my feet. The care from Mr Jacob and everybody in his team was second to none. The nursing staff at Ashford Hospital in the Dickens ward were fantastic I felt very well looked after. The physiotherapist staff also great and very encouraging. The lovely tea ladies were also great and nothing to much trouble. Overall the complete care I received from all involved were a absolute credit to the NHS. The major suggestion I would have is that before I had my operation my Knee had deteriorated so badly I was house bound but there seemed no way of putting me up higher on the waiting list even though I feel that my priority was very high compared to some of the other patients on the list I therefore went onto a cancellation list and requested my own GP to write a letter on my behalf as I was told my operation would be September .

Mr Jacob put me ease straight away, he explained exactly what was going to happen,I was very apprehensive as you hear lots of horror stories, I was in such a lot of pain before the op,I really didn’t care what happened, the staff at ash ford hospital were very kind and professional,I can’t say it was easy, the first four weeks the pain was excruciating and I thought I’d be like this forever, all of a sudden the pain became a dull ache and now after seven weeks it’s still slightly swollen still a bit numb and sore to the touch, i saw mr Jacobs today, he was very pleased and discharged me,I’m driving, walking sometimes without a stick, and cansee the end of the tunnel,I’m even going to let him do the other knee!! Thankyou

Mr. Jacob was informative, professional and caring. His explanation before the operation and at the subsequent follow-ups, were clear and reassuring. I am now walking, without pain, for the first time in many years. His pleasant, friendly manner put me at ease.

Dr Jacob took my case at the last moment, I had not met him before the morning of my operation on May 22nd yet he was caring and took an interest before and after the operation. I had waited a long time for the operation and couldn't wait any longer so I was very glad and grateful to have it done.
