Dr Hogg treated my mother for vulvar cancer at the start of covid-19. Despite her being 79, she was fit and (despite the cancer) healthy with a passion for life. Dr Hogg looked at my mum's ability to withstand treatment, not as a 79 year old woman - her fitness was the key, not her age. A major operation followed in April, and chemotherapy and radiotherapy started in June. At every point, Dr Hogg was there on her journey and was always ready with encouragement and advice. She sailed through treatment, amazing those treating her. My mum was due to see Dr Hogg a few weeks after her treatment ended so he could keep a close check on her recovery. Sadly, less than 2 weeks after her treatment ended, she passed away with sepsis - we are still in shock, but will be forever grateful that Dr Hogg looked at my mum as a person, rather than just an age. We are so grateful that Dr Hogg was her doctor - we couldn't have asked for anyone better. Thank you Dr Hogg.
