I developed colitis in my 40s and have been under his care for 20 years at Central Middlesex Hospital. In June, I had a routine telephone conversation with him informing him that I had lost a lot of weight (three stone). He arranged a CT scan straight away at Central Middlesex Hospital and telephoned me the next day with the results that a lump had been found. He promptly arranged an appointment for me with a surgeon for me at St. Marks Hospital. I had the appointment with the surgeon and an operation was arranged at the Clementine Churchill hospital on 17 July 2020. I spent eight days in hospital and subsequently returned home to recover following the procedure. The diagnosis was rare neuroendocrine cancer has been found, which was removed as part of the surgery received. As part of my treatment, I had various scans, blood and urine tests. Thankfully I am now clear of any cancer but shall need regular scans as part of on-going monitoring. I wish to thank Dr Sharif formally for his care, support and attention to me during this difficult time as well as over the last 20 years. He always makes time to listen and reassure me with respect to my care. I have every confidence in him as my doctor and cannot find words good enough to express my thanks to him.
