I was referred to Mr. Paul Thiruchelvam after my breast cancer diagnosis. After reviewing my biopsy results, I had a telephone consult with him on a Sunday evening, which demonstrated from the onset that he was going to be dedicated to my care. I also knew from that consult that I was going to be in exceptional care and confident in his expertise. A day later, I met with Mr. Thiruchelvam in person. He guided me in a thoroughly professional, informative and thoughtful manner. He reassured me that the cancer I had was treatable, but I would be facing surgery. Thereafter, I had many but necessary scans to properly diagnose the cancer. Each of the scans and follow up meetings were organised by his PA Michelle Wright, and was appreciative that she reflected that same high level of professionalism and diligence that had been set forth by Mr. Thiruchelvam. Ultimately, I had a left breast mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Mr. Thiruchelvam successfully removed the cancer. He also removed lymph nodes which did not show signs of the cancer spreading. Mr Thiruchelvam collaborates with a top notch multidisciplinary team, from breast nurses to specialist consultants, who would be instrumental in my care from surgery and after. At present, I am six months post op and consider myself extremely lucky to be under his care. I am grateful for his commitment, his skill, his dedicated team and the positive impact he has had on my health and well being. The cancer journey can be challenging and stressful but having the security of a wholly dedicated health care team makes all the difference. I highly recommend Mr. Paul Thiruchelvam.
