On the 21st December 2018 Professor Davidson performed a Whipples procedure on my husband . We were advised the operation was very difficult. Owing to the very high standards skill care and attention lead by Professor Davidson and his team Laurence made a very good recovery and with on going target therapy supported by our local hospital he manages to lead a reasonable life.
Every day we respect recognise and are extremely thankful for the incredible knowledge and skill of this kind caring surgeon who saved my husbands life.
The operation is almost five years ago and we are truly thankful to Professor Davidson and his team for their dedication and wonderful care saving people’s lives

I write this review on the assumption that it refers to Professor Brian Davidson at the Royal Free Hospital. I had surgery under Prof Davidson's care earlier this year. At the very first outpatient visit it was clear he was a pretty special clinician. He actually listened to everything I said, he gave me an extraordinarily thorough examination, he had all my records to hand (as I'd been referred from another hospital) and he spent all the time needed to go through my case with my wife and I. We left the consultation room thinking "this is a pretty special clinician".
Ultimately he performed an incredibly complex operation on me, taking 11 hours, to remove a cancer for which I'd been written off by another prominent university hospital. During my recovery Prof Davidson visited me on the ward every single day, Sundays included, something I've never known an NHS consultant to do in my past. At each visit, he did not stand back and allow his team to do the difficult bits, but rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in with dressings and double-checking things like fluid charts.
I don't yet know if I'm cured but I do know that Prof Davidson is a truly impressive doctor, and one in whose hands you feel totally safe. To cap it all, he has a nice wry sense of humour. Highly recommended.
