Hes an amazing doctor!! Caring, friendly and professional. He knows exactly what he's doing in all his trained areas and very knowledgeable, I really wouldnt want to use anyone else. He's treated me for a few things and most recently a hysterectomy and I was up and about with no problems in no time! He's really very good at what he does and I'd highly recommend him (and Karen his secretary is very efficient too.) Thanks Mr P for everything you've done so well...and most importantly for helping give me my kids(helping me surgically I mean!)

I was previously under a different doctor at Wythenshawe who was rude, and didn't listen. I was moved to Mr Pickersgill and he is a breath of fresh air. A truly wonderful doctor, who takes the time to understand his patient, who reads the notes and who gets it. He put me at ease within about 5 mins after fretting about my gynae issues and pain for so many months. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone!

I have been under the care of this amazing consultant for a year now. I can't thank Mr Andrew Pickersgill enough. He is an amazing surgeon. You can have total faith and trust in him. August last year I found out I had a large endometriosis cyst on my left ovary which was 15cm. after a stressful few month and horrific pain I had surgery in December with Andrew who explained everything and my options. As I still haven't had any children I was worried this was going to affect me conceiving. Andrew listened and was very caring and explained he will do all he can to make sure I still have a chance to have children. The surgery in December 2015 he suggested I have the cyst drained first as it was so big he didn't want to damage my ovary, and go back after 3months to have the cyst removed. After this surgery which was successful and also he drained 1liter of fluid from the cyst. He also discovered that there was more cyst on the surface of my bladder back of the vagina and the onto the surface of my bowels. As this sounded scary and stressful he was still able to keep me positive and able to reassure me he will do all he can to remove all the endometriosis. At this point I felt better after speaking to him. He always kept me updated covered all areas. Also If I ever called him and left as message he would always call me back. I couldn't of asked for anything more. After 8months of stress and feeling down I had my final surgery in May 2016 which was a success Andrew was able to remove all endometriosis, even tho this was extensive surgery as he explained to me after almost 4 hour surgery which should of only took 45mins the cysts was all over and was very complex for him to remove but HE DID IT :). I just wanted to say thank you for everything and making me feel better and being so caring and understanding. We need more doctors like you, I feel blessed you was my consultant. I highly recommend him. I am now trying for a baby :) and feeling 100% in my-self.

I had a complex operation in Auguse 2015 with Dr pickersgill and the man changed my life. I had 2 previous failed surgeries and travelled from scotland to Manchester for this surgery. I felt so much better after and even managed to go back to exercising, I still suffer adenomyosis but it felt easier to manage a little because I was rid of the endometriosis and frozen pelvis. Any the best news yet I am now 7wks 4 days pregnant

I came to Mr Pickersgill after receiving amazing A&E care from Stepping Hill hospital which unfortunately wasn't matched by follow up diagnostic treatment. He was recommended by someone as being the most "human" of the consultants within his specialist area and this is a description I 100% endorse. He listened to me to make sure he had all the facts, given that he was taking over my case part-way through, and was very patient every time I got my notebook out with my long list of questions, the answers to which I had to also write down if I was going to remember anything once I had left the room! He gave me options to consider as part of my treatment and answered all my questions regarding associated risks and how each option would suit me as an individual (not a case study). He is friendly, personable, honest and has a sense of humour (not all specialists possess this quality). He spoke to me like a knowledgeable friend rather than a consultant dealing with a patient. The comment made by someone else about never rushing an appointment is spot on and I never minded waiting if he was running late as I knew he would give me the same dedicated attention when it was my turn. Mr Pickersgill is a credit to his profession and I am so grateful for the care and attention received from him. Again, thank you so much.
