Miss Kirkpatrick responded to a request from a colleague, for an urgent review of my case following an untoward absorption of gamma radiation in my breasts during a bone scan. Everything was found to be normal, but Miss Kirkpatrick's sympathetic approach was a great help on the day. The mammogram (the first I've ever had that didn't hurt!) and radiologist's assessment were done very quickly and, after a very thorough manual examination (including the chest wall), she was able to give me complete reassurance, which, after the previous 2 excruciatingly worrying weeks, was an absolute boon. The additional information she gave me that breast pain (from which I've suffered periodically for many years) was not usually an indicator for breast cancer was also very helpful to know. I would recommend her to anyone, for her kindness and obvious wish to allay one's fears, as much as for her obvious knowledge and skill.
