Review of Eye Casualty
6th May 2024

My wife became unwell a few minutes before her Laser treatment last Thursday 2nd May 2024 which necessitated the staff having to look after as she kept fainting. Over a period of some minutes my wife regained her awareness of things around her. During this time the compassion, understanding and caring shown by Dr. [name removed], a nurse was called [name removed] and another nurse whose name I cannot remember was magnificent and I could not fault them. The care shown to my wife by these three ladies was outstanding. Who says "THE STAFF DO NOT CARE ". These three ladies certainly did CARE. My wife's Laser treatment went very well thanks to these ladies.

Lovely, caring and reassuring staff. All very kind. Everyone answered all of my questions and spent as much time with me as required. I never felt rushed. They all took the time to make sure I understood everything and had a say in my care.

A quieter and darker nighttime would’ve been nice. And keeping the sliding doors closed as much as possible (this makes a big difference in noise). I was in the bed next to the corridor, so more light came into my bay. But I understand that on a ward, quiet isn’t really possible. There was a lot of noise from other patients throughout the night, which the nurses responded to as quietly as possible.
