Appointments on time. Staff very professional. Only issue is there is not much parking.
I was looked after very well from day 1 by Mr Childs and his entire team from the theatre team ward staff and physio dept. I would highly recommend that any body requiring any surgery etc to use this hospital and staff.
On the day of my surgery, whilst waiting to go down to theatre, I tried to use the toilet in my room. It had a notice on the lid to say it had been cleaned but when I opened the lid, there was urine in the toilet and the toilet wouldn’t flush. I reported this and was told somebody would come out and sort it. This didn’t happen, and I didnt feel comfortable using it again. That was my only issue.
After thinking about having an abdominoplasty for about 5 years and doing extensive research and also having some first hand reviews I came to see Mr El Gawad. I was extremely nervous but from our very first meeting he completely put me at ease. He was honest, patient and made sure he answered all of my questions (of which there were many). Between consultations and the surgery both Mr El Gawad and his wonderful staff were quick to respond to any queries I had.
On the day of my surgery Mr El Gawad came to see me and made sure I was clear on everything. One thing that meant the most to me was that knowing how nervous I was Mr El Gawad stayed with me and held my hand whilst I was being put under anesthetic. It might seem silly but he really is a surgeon that cares. He wants to deliver the results you are hoping for but he really cares about his patients. After the surgery we were in regular contact both in the hospital and via phone. I am really pleased with my results and while I am still healing I already feel so much more confident. I would recommend Mr El Gawad and his team to anyone.
The hospital facilities were very good and was seen on time for my appointments.
The staff were attentive and friendly
Good experience
Very pleasant environment.
Doctor Madan was amazing i would recommend him to anybody who have a skin conditition they are worried about .
Having recently undergone surgery for prostate issues in July this year, I feel urged to write my views regarding treatment to warn others.
The pre operative brief was insufficient by consultant. Far too little information was provided as to what to expect following surgery - side effects and other post operative issues. Totally taken by surprise! I didn’t see nor have any contact with consultant for nearly three months after surgery, suffering all this time, I was belatedly put on antibiotics. Still suffering. Now paying privately to see urologist.
The post operative care seemed routine and inefficient. Some staff were caring but had little or no knowledge on my condition. Far too little staff on during the night - my sheets were soiled but I had to wait until morning before they were changed as I was told they hadn’t the suitable sheets available. Appalling !
Sent out with catheter fitted and given a number to call if I needed help. Virtually impossible to get through and only daytime hours switchboard. When I did, the staff hadn’t a clue on my issues nor how to deal with them. I ended up in A&E to resolve a blockage problem.
Most helpful advice came from my own GP practice and district nurses, but even they had limited knowledge on how to deal with my condition.
My advice - Choose the main Bolton hospital for treatment as it has the staff and resources infrastructure to deal with your issues.
I was in Beaumont hospital for a hip replacement. The whole process, from pre-op to post-op by the whole team was faultless and very joined up. Whilst not wanting to go back too soon, I would not hesitate if any future condition demands.
