I have been a patient of nhs since I was a child and everybody has got me through all of my health problems.
All went well. On time.
Explanation was given to me in a nice understanding way that l.was happy l went to the hospital since my health issues started.
i was pleased with everything the doctors i had were both very helpful.
Didn't wait long to be seen even though I was early. A very nice nurse took me to the consultant. The consultant I saw was professional and explained everything to me in an easy manner. I wish all medical staff could be like him. I also liked the way he dictated a letter to his secretary and looked at me whilst doing this. To show that I agreed / understood maybe? This saved time as he was ready to deal with the next patient as I left the room. Very impressed.
I was very impressed with the people who cared for me and I am now under the frailty department and I can not thank them enough with the way they are caring for me i am so thankful
This was the worse experience l ever had with Queens hospital in the Day Surgery Unit. I got there for 7am as requested (in fact l got there at 6.40am). Finally we was showed into ward around 8am. I was showed to my bed number 16 by one of your nurses. I just hang around and later one of the nurses did my check ups and filled in the notes. When l came back from the toilets l noticed the white socks plus the red ones. I asked the nurse shall l get changed into my gown. She said yes, l asked her about the white socks. She said can you do it yourself? I said no because of my leg . Then she left her table by the reception area and headed over to my bed to do it. I asked if l can have some water she said no. This was around 9'sh. Later when the 2 staff(Doctor and a lady)from the theatre came to me. The lady told me that l was having the gallbladder removed. I said l thought l was having the gallstone removed? I never knew this. Anyway she was surprised that l didn't know about this. I asked both if them if l can have some water? They said yes only a sip of it. Afterwards l asked the same nurse for water, again she refused. I asked when was l going down to theatre, she said l was 3rd on the list. Anyway l finally went down around 1.10pm. Everything was fine in the theatre room, the staff explained very well in there. Then when l woke up in the recovery room, l must have been in there for over 2 to 3 hours. The nurse who was looking after was a joke as she kept disappearing into this room talking on her mobile all the time. My machine kept going off every 30 seconds. She now and then came over and kept saying breath in and out. Much later l heard one of the staff saying it might be a faulty on the machine? The sister or head nurse came over and over took the other nurse job as she disappeared. Then this same person told this Anthony Jude then l can go back to the day ward. I noticed he was very rude to me as l told him l was deaf. He asked about tea and coffee. When l was wheeled back by an Porter. Soon Anthony bought a tray with a cup of tea, a packet of biscuits, a yogurt and a sandwich. I said what sandwich is it please? He said Tuna. I said l don't eat fish. Can l have a different sandwich please. He said that's all we got and walked away. I asked 2 other staffs if there was something else to eat? Don't forget l hadn't eaten since 11 30pm the previous night and now it was 6.30pm. Then l was moved to the waiting home area and Anthony gave me a questionnaire form . I should have written it all on this form but then l thought they will tear it up if they saw my comments so l didn't bother. I asked if l have a letter for my GP. They said it's been sorted. I wasn't told anything about the aftercare. All Anthony did explained about the plasters if they get wet. On the whole this was a rotten and uncomfortable experience.
The NHS staff I found are very efficient and look after you reminding you of your appointments.
