I found that this made sleeping so much easier, never waking breathless in the night. Even when I had flu some years ago. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I began taking this drug 20 years ago as my GP practice Guinea Pig and it wasn't until Friends commented on how quickly I had climbed up the coastal path in Cornwall, that I fully realised what a dramatic difference it was making to my life. I have been asthmatic since childhood and had always had to stop to catch my breath on such a climb in the past. I have not had a bad attack since I began to take montelukast.

I found that it helped my night time cough so that I got better sleep. Though it didnt really help in the day time. I have been taking for a number of years now with no side effects and no lessening of its benefits.

Profile

Montelukast is used for prevention and long-term treatment of asthma. It is also used in certain patients to relieve allergy symptoms (eg, itchy, runny, or stuffy nose; sneezing) and to prevent asthma attacks caused by exercise. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It works by blocking a substance called leukotriene, which helps to decrease certain asthma and allergy symptoms.
