I usually got given certizine dihydrochloride but the chemist gave me to cheaper version which was 'hydro'. They said it wasn't much differerent. But it didn't help my allergies. My eye was twitching like crazy, I woke up with rashes on my chest and I had a lot of scratches from itching myself in my sleep. So I told my GP about this and she gave me a stronger on which only can be given on prescription. Even though I've been taking it for a week. My eye doesn't twitch and I don't have any rashes or that many scratches when I wake up in the morning. By the way take it in evening as it makes you feel very drowsy and may effect your work life.

Changed from lower dose to higher but still need to use eye drops at times due to eye symptoms. Not enough of a problem to want to change to another drug.

Profile

Fexofenadine is used for treating seasonal allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy throat, or itchy, watery eyes. It is also used to treat hives and skin itching. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Fexofenadine is an antihistamine. It works by blocking a substance in the body called histamine. This helps to decrease allergy symptoms.
