forget it unless you have very simple needs. 1. people with complex needs and low cognitive ability are not deemed worth helping to achieve partial independence by this service, the difference that even a small amount of mobility freedom can make to someone with PMLD is amazing and yet because they do not have the cognitive ability to make the many choices over direction and where to go they are not deemed suitable for a powered chair with attendant assistance. 2. they only have a few 'stock' bases and chairs that they use, if they are no good forget it. 3. They will put someone in a wheelchair that 'meets their needs' shame it is so bloody heavy that everyone struggles to push them leaving people stuck unable to go out very much.

I received a wheelchair voucher for £1350 from Worthing Wheelchair Service. Although this was some way short of the total cost of a new wheelchair for me (£2100), they were fully accepting of my ability to chose a product that was suitable for my needs. When I have required accessories such as cushions and cushion covers they have ordered them swiftly and I have always received these items within a couple of weeks.
