My child have very rare genetic condition, she has uncontrolled Epileptic seizures, Poor muscle tone, she is totally dependent on 24hr care from adult. She can not weight bear and walk at all. No speech. She has behaviour issues, she has sleeping issues. She will have days she wants to sleep all day or she will not go to sleep for few days. She will ge very tired if she had seizure during the nights, she wants to have naps. My daughter goes to a special needs school, When I told the school physiotherapists that my daughter needs her chair that she can travel on the transport and a chair we can take her outing they call the wheelchair services. I got the appointment at school and they told me they will order her wheelchair. I was not awake what type of chair she needs, what her condition is nothing. My daughter been given basic kids cheapest wheelchair they can get. Next day when my daughter went on school transport she was sliding down from the chair, she was half way down harness was stuck in her neck. Then I told the physio and the wheelchair service this is not the chair for my daughter, they didn't agree with me. She was not conformable in that chair at all she didn't have support when she was tired and sleepy. They told me, she is sits upright nicely we can't provide a chair for her to sleep! This is special need child she can't communicate her feelings at all when she is sleepy or tired why wheelchair service can't provide comfortable chair that my child can travel. I told them to take the wheelchair back. Now they have agreed give 370£ voucher but I have to pay the rest the chair cost 1500£. I am so disappointed the way my child been treated. I don't think it's only my child there must be more children and parents out there treated this way. Government is paying for people whom who working for wheelchair service, I don't know why they can't give money to family's to buy the chair they want for their child without paying for third man. I

Staff very helpful and friendly. I Think the access is good , easy to move around. The communication was ok, as they kept me informed quite well about my chair, but sometimes I needed to contact them for updates. Good service received.
