Shocked!! I rang for an appointment and I was told I had to fill in a referral form?? Surely my son is on the system, he's had a wheelchair since he was 3.
I rang six weeks later to ask when he would be assessed. I was told the waiting list is 14 weeks long, ring back then and we will see where you are on the waiting list??
My son has to live with a wheelchair that he's too big for and also put up with the pain of his hip being out of it's socket 40% until the waiting list comes down. Shocking!!!
We only want an NHS voucher to help towards funding a wheelchair which is suitable as the 2 active user chairs provided by wheelchair services are unsuitable as they are heavy to push and prevent my son being independent.
