Richard is good with knees, mine are failing a bit with age but he's helped me with work to strengthen and improve my movements and gait. I really appreciate his expertise and his easy going manner. I know I'm getting on a bit but these young physios today certainly know their stuff and I'm very glad of that.

My fitness trainer recommended Richard after I pulled out my shoulder doing pull ups. As soon as I saw him I knew he was an expert in his field. He is exacting and careful in his approach and explains clearly what is wrong and what's going to happen. I saw him a couple of times a week for a couple of weeks and then reduced to once as improvement started and now I'm back to normal, in fact I'm stronger and wiser for his help and I know how not to make the same mistake again!

I've seen many physios and for that matter doctors over the years for a problem with pain in my neck and shoulder. None have made it better for any more than a day or two. A neighbour suggested I went to Physio & More and said any of the physios there were excellent and he said if I didn't improve going there he would pay for my appointments, what had I to lose? I made an appointment with Richard who was very polite and unassuming but I could tell quite quickly from the probing questions he asked that he knew his stuff. The treatment went on for a couple of months and I won't be graphic about it as some of it was not nice at all. At each stage I could sense improvement although I didn't dare to believe it would last. At the end of eight weeks of seeing Richard twice each week he said he thought a bit of time was now needed and over the next couple of weeks I would see a substantial improvement which I did. I've been going to see him every three months for what is now more than three years. I'm pain free and having lived for years with chronic pain there is no way I want it back so all I ask is that he checks things out for me and works to prevent and problem happening again. I'm fine, I never believed I would be - and although it's my money rather than my neighbour's that I'm spending I'm more than happy to spend it!

Richard Clark is an excellent and experienced physical therapist who I would recommend without hesitation to any person in need of this type of treatment. He was recommended to me by another PT, as I was looking for someone closer to home in Kingston Upon Thames, and I couldn't be more thankful. Not only did Richard help me recover from a serious knee problem, due to a shattered femur and numerous surgeries, but he put me back onto a path in life of healthier lifestyle and well-being. He encouraged me to join the local Virgin Active as part of my recovery, not only to work on my knee physio but on overall physical health. Even now, with physical therapy behind me, I still go to the gym 3x per week in order to exercise (strength and cardio training). If you need to see a physical therapist, see Richard Clark! You will not be disappointed in your treatment or recovery!

Profile

Senior Physiotherapist

During my career I have enjoyed helping people from all walks of life with effective pain relief and achieving their rehabilitation goals. I started work at one of the country’s leading teaching hospitals, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where I developed a sound medical background in healthcare, and gained experience in treating various conditions and injuries. During this time I also worked in private practice and spent 3 years working part-time at Fulham FC Academy where I was responsible for the rehabilitation of injuries of players aged 9-16 and their pitch-side medical care.I moved to a Harley Street clinic where I helped people from the general public and professional west-end performers. Pilates was an integral and popular part of rehabilitation. In 2011 I completed my MSc studies at King’s College London in Advanced Neuro-muscuoloskeletal Physiotherapy where I specialised in musculoskeletal pain and pathology, and the manual / physical therapy aspects towards treating these problems.Currently I work full time at Brentford FC where I am responsible for the physiotherapy and rehabilitation of the U9-U21 age groups as well as supporting the 1st team medical staff. This has involved working with some of the countries leading physicians and consultants where complex problems or operative procedures are concerned. On a daily basis I work with back pain, nerve related pain and rehabilitation of mainly lower limb injuries, as well as groin, knee and ankle pains and post-operative rehabilitation.I am delighted to have joined the team at Physio & More and I look forward to helping you reach your goals, starting with a warm smile and open ears. No one I see receives a recipe or the same treatment. Depending on your needs and desires, I use a combination of hands on therapy including acupuncture and soft tissue massage/release with exercise therapy including Pilates and strength and conditioning. Understanding your injury can be essential to making it better, so I will always go the extra mile to give you as much information as possible so that you don’t leave with unanswered questions. You can be assured that we will get to the root of the problem quickly, and formulate a tailor made plan together to move forwards.
