Excellent rehab from Ben after shoulder surgery, I've seen a few physios over the years, Ben is the best by a big margin.

I was treated at Physio & More after surgery to my knee, my consultant recommended I see Ben Wilde. From the word go I knew the recommendation was right. Ben listened carefully to what I had done and noted the consultant's comments. He then set to work first of all freeing up my knee with mobilisations and then got to work on strengthening the muscles again. I don't think I anticipated how much the surgery would affect my strength in my knee - the consultant did warn me but it's one of those things you do not appreciate until it happens to you. Anyway, now all is sorted and I'm running again which in six months is huge progress. Ben is easy to get along with, he makes the sessions fun and he knows just how far to push. Rehabilitation for that long is not easy and on the darker days where I wondered whether I would ever get back to normal he was as steady as a rock with a message of yes I would, all was going to plan and it would all be OK.

My consultant referred me to Ben after shoulder surgery. I was immediately impressed by his thorough approach and how carefully he listened telling me what could be achieved but asking very carefully what I wanted to achieve. Having had shoulder problems for over a year before the surgery this was all very refreshing and hopeful. Ben got to work and got me to work too with mobilising my shoulder and exercising it for strength. Twelve weeks on I'm now better than I have been for a very long time and certainly better than I was before it all started. Ben is also kind and thoughtful and nothing is a problem to him. All in all, excellent.

I first met Ben in April 2015 when I approached him for help with some post-op rehab on my wrists, having had ligament reconstructions done. Nothing too complex, we both thought! Since then, I have literally thrown a textbook worth of injuries and problems at him. As it turns out, I have just recently been diagnosed by a rheumatologist as having a hereditary connective tissue disorder, and only because I had the good fortune to have Ben as my physiotherapist. Of all the consultant/GP/physio appointments I have had my entire life (and there have quite a few), Ben was the very first clinician to notice my hypermobility, consider my medical history and voice out loud that I appeared to have something systemic going on that warranted further investigation. Whilst the diagnosis itself is not exactly thrilling, at least I now understand why my body is misbehaving and with Ben's help and guidance, I am overcoming each injury, surgery and setback as and when they happen. I have never met a physio who advocates for his patients as well as Ben does, and has such empathy and concern. Over the last year, he has been a sounding board, a constant source of effective rehab ideas, and a true partner in my ongoing rehab/recovery/quest to conquer a Tough Mudder event :-) His treatments are effective (and yes, effective does sometimes mean painful, but he intuitively knows your limits....and how to stand out of the firing line!), varied and his sense of humour is outstanding - we have had many a laugh over the last year or so, which has been so greatly appreciated on the days when I have been overwhelmed by the sheer number of things going awry. It is my pleasure to highly recommend Ben as the most skilled, knowledgeable and talented physiotherapist I know - my only problem with doing so is that more people will want to see him and it will be harder for me to get an appointment. I might have to go and book 6 months of appointments in advance now, before you lot start ringing.... Thank you, Ben. PS The whole team at Physio & More are great - friendly, welcoming, always happy to have a chat and the facilities are perfect - clean, airy and bright.
