On 10 th December , 2016, Janake, in the course of a routine examination of my eyes, identified the onset of an eye condition which had resulted from the combination of both a life- long condition and the more recent consequences of my ongoing treatment for multiple myeloma, and I am indebted to her for her exemplary response to what was for me a personal crisis. Ever since this initial event she has been diligent in granting me attentive consultations following the surgery which followed her initial diagnosis, and she will have my abiding gratitude for her timely intervention, and the after- care she sustained. I learned today that she is to move to your Kensington Branch, and my gratitude goes with her, as I entrust my future care to your resident optometrist, Janaka's successor in her present post.
