We have always had excellent care in every aspect at Safarian and Simon, and we feel very lucky to have followed Sachin Patel (from where he took care of us previously) when he opened this St Johns Wood practice. Everyone who works there is caring, and extremely helpful. We both greatly appreciate this opticians practice!

This tony optician in Saint John’s Wood bridges the gap between optometry and ophthalmology. It’s an important distinction especially as people get older and develop eye conditions which are not straightforwardly corrected by glasses. It isn’t only about the second opinion and advice I sought for my current Fuchs dysmorphia (a clouding of vision caused by natural loss of cells in the innermost layer of cornea) but the pre-emptive steps one can take through the diagnostic power of folks who understand the complexity of the human eye even if they are not surgeons proper (in simple terms, you do not have to be a pilot to understand how an airplane works and what should be done to prevent a crash). In my case I had been seen by doctors at Moorfields Eye Hospital for whom I have the utmost respect (to wit, I had my LASEK surgery performed there 13 years ago). But they are often overworked and simply don’t have the time to go into the risk-reward trade-offs of potential treatments and surely not enough for the nearly 1 hour of personal Q&A which Safarian and Simon’s Dr. Patel offered me last week. Through patience not hurry, he found a second disorder within my cornea that related to the outermost layer rather than the innermost first cited by Moorfields. It became crystal clear when viewed on Safarian and Simon’s new-fangled computer imagery and of course an informed patient becomes a better decision-maker (note: many of us acquire multiple eye conditions over time which can range from the self-contained (whether independent or interdependent) to the systemic (caused by other bodily disorders, a critical distinction). In short, I highly recommend this boutique for folks who care about their eyes beyond the next pair of spectacles. While they may be on the High Street (by way of Saint John’s Wood address) they sit well above the High Street (by analogy to the colloquium).

This was my first visit to Safarian & Simon and all the staff made me feel really welcome which was a great start. The shop itself is well designed and fitted out in such a way that there is a natural sense of good quality and professionalism. The range of frames and styles was also really good and it was easy to select a short list and, with a bit of really helpful input, make a final choice that I'm extremely happy with. Once the glasses were in production I received good updates and final fitting. Special thanks to David for chasing my order and keeping me informed. Overall, brilliant service and very good product. A sincere thanks - Anthony
