The eye test was very punctual, professional and 100% satisfactory for my particular needs. In addition I had my Zeiss varifocal glasses rebuilt, due to a domestic accident. Fran, the Canterbury staff member who did the work, was very helpful and completed the task extremely well, with perfect results.

Staff very helpful… thorough eye health check the best I have received anywhere. Excellent optometrist explained things fully to me. Assistance in purchasing lenses..nice that I was listened to without giving a pushy sale. Highly recommend.

Myself and my wife spent approx £900 in your store , wife glasses no problem. Came to me girl lost my glasses had to go back in 3 times in all second time try to tell me l order metal rims which I didn’t, 3rd time try to sort it even the manager could not in the end got pair free you think ok . Had my glasses 3 months drop then on the kitchen floor which is not hard whole arm snap away phone Canterbury girl was very rude told me I would have to buy some more . I will never shop in that branch ever again terrible service

I am very disappointed that Boots Opticians, where I have been a customer for years, just closed their doors during the Lockdown and don't demonstrate any duty of care to their patients. I needed a tiny screw putting back in my glasses but Boots' website's answer is: 'sorry we're closed. Go to a branch 30 miles away, they are a franchise and they're open'. Absolutely not good enough. I was passing today and all the lights were on so I thought it was open. Actually not, but a very nice lady, Georgia, a Hearing aid person - very kindly mended my glasses for me. Good on her but Shame on you Boots.

Went to Boots in Whitefriars, Canterbury today. Hideous experience! I am part of the Boots Reward Scheme and pay monthly towards eye tests/lenses etc. The weather today has been awful and the roads were dangerous. Also, parking was difficult. I arrived (they said) 15 minutes late. It was nearer ten! Anyway, I apologized for being late and explained about the traffic. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that as I was late my appointment was cancelled and I would have to make another one. On every other appointment I have been to I have arrived early and my reason for being late was obvious. However, this is not the specific reason for writing this - it is to report the way I was spoken to by the receptionist. She was rude and dismissive. I have generally had very good service from the team there and was taken aback. I pay for a service and just this once was late and I was spoken to in a very dismissive manner. I completely understand that when someone is late this has a knock on effect and I was prepared for them to say that I may have a wait. Fair enough! But this was not an option. I asked for the manager and he was also very rude and confrontational. I will be raising these matters with their head office. I will also be raising other concerns I have about the competency of the two of the members of staff there, from a previous experience. I have now terminated any business with them and will be going nowhere near the place again!
