Carol was the prescribing nurse who worked through the titration process with me to find the correct medication and dosage for my ADHD. She was really keen to make sure I paid attention the details in the changes the medication was making and reported everything back - nothing was missed and I felt that any information was being considered. Carol's response time was ridiculously fast - please don't hold her to that after reading this if you are working with her in future; I may have been lucky and caught her during a quieter time! Just know that she is super efficient and will be back to you ASAP because this lady doesn't drag her feet. I was fortunate and had meds prescribed which worked first time - we tweaked the doses and I was also given snack choice/timing advice too. I never doubted that we would find something that worked throughout the entire process. Carol is so positive and confident it didn't cross my mind that the outcome would be anything other than positive. All of this wonderfulness - and we've never even met. Truly a skilled nurse. Thank you Carol - you were a star.

Carol was always patient and compassionate, and went above and beyond to help. Remote care is often impersonal or detached but Carol was neither - I felt she genuinely cared about finding the right medication, hearing my concerns, and improving quality of life in general. I’m a mental health professional so have worked with many MH nurses and can safely say that Carol is absolutely exceptional. I’m immensely grateful for all her help and support.

Carol was incredibly helpful and reassuring during my year's medication titration with Psychiatry UK. She always responded in a timely manner and would suggest courses of action depending on my symptoms and side effects. Her support was invaluable throughout the entire process, and I would absolutely recommend her services.

Carol was amazing - she was my titration nurse for a new medication after a diagnosis for ADHD. I always had all the information needed from carol and felt fully informed the whole time. Carol was always friendly, clear and concise and replied amazingly quickly! No ask was too big for Carol and she was great at providing advice and guidance during quite a difficult period of adjustment. Thank you Carol!

Profile

I am a registered nurse prescriber. I started my journey as a mental health nurse by completing the recognised nursing course in the UK. Since qualifying as a nurse in 2011, I have worked in acute inpatient and community settings. I have helped pioneered the start of an NHS Adult ADHD service in 2011 and developed the service together with a Consultant Psychiatrist and provided a nurse led service for adults. Since 2011, I have participated in training conferences to help train other clinicians who were planning to start an adult ADHD service in their locality or those who have just started working in an adult ADHD service. I have given talks about the nurse led Adult ADHD service that I have helped pioneered in conferences/training sessions.

I was voted Clinician of The Year in 2017 in the NHS Trust I was working with, and this reflects my dedication and commitment to continue to develop my nursing practice and deliver the best nursing intervention to those in need.
