I am now 8 weeks following my surgery and 4 weeks following my discharge from hospital The support I’ve received has been instrumental to my recovery as my time in the hospital was difficult Mandy has put me at ease and has given me the confidence to recover from my surgery - I can’t thank her enough

Mandy Smart visits me monthly to check on me and give me support She is very friendly and professional and very caring She checks that I am coping and managing my stoma and gives me any appropriate advice As and when necessary, she checks my stoma which I find very reassuring

Mandy supports our UHB patients in the community with post operative stoma care and support. I have found her to be very reliable, dependable, and a great communicator. She always keeps us updated with patient progress and is a great patient advocate raising concerns on their behalf especially at times when they have struggled to get in contact with us. Her service is greatly appreciated and we would struggle without her.

Mandy doesn't require any improvements, she has been a great source of support to me since my surgery 8 months ago and always has time to listen to my concerns and advise accordingly. The support of a nurse visiting my home has been essential to my recovery and i couldn't have done it without her. When i have felt at my most vulnerable she has been there to support whether that be via text, phone call or the home visits. Mandy is also a lovely person who is sensitive to not only the changes to your body but to your life in general after this kind of surgery, she is always positive and this has helped a lot! My husband has also found her a great source of information and has been able to ask her questions when he has had concerns or queries. Mandy is an asset to any employer and i hope her team values her as much as i do!
