The nurse was genuinely interested in me and how I was doing, any problems, was I happy with my ostomy fittings. She was very pleasant, and her manner was kind and compassionate. Could not fault her in any way.

Bev's visit was much more thorough than previous reviews. Bev offered me information that I had never been made aware of before which I found very informative, and offered me alternative pouches based on the fact I have an hernia on my stoma.

Profile

Beverley first started working for the NHS in 1994, where she worked in a GP surgery as a receptionist.
Her previous job role before joining NAMS as a Prescription Coordinator was at a GP practice, where she had worked for over 16 years. Beverley started there as a receptionist, then trained to become a Healthcare Assistant, where her duties included Phlebotomy, ECG’s, Immunisations, Diabetic Foot Checks, Annual Reviews to name but a few.
Beverley joined NAMS in July 2021 as a Prescription Coordinator, and did that job for 3 years, where she gained a keen interest in Stoma Care due to the role and to personal experiences and supporting friends who have or have had stomas. Beverley has now moved over to the Nursing team and has trained to become an Assistant Practitioner where her role is doing annual reviews, which she says she loves. Beverley is dedicated to providing individualised care and support to patients and their families.
