I have met with Lisa a number of times over recent years and she always does a fantastic job. Incredibly helpful, supportive, thorough, with great attention to detail and really great at listening and understanding what's going on for the patient. Nothing is too much trouble and always follows through on what's been agreed. Great person and a true professional.

Qualifications:

  • Adult Nurse, Level 1

Profile

I am a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pouch Care.

I graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2001 with a BA in Adult Nursing. I thoroughly enjoyed
looking after surgical patients and found that I was particularly interested in colorectal surgery. In
2002 I undertook a Diploma in Cancer Nursing at the Royal Marsden Hospital which involved
different placements including time on an Upper Gastrointestinal and Urology ward. After taking a
year out to travel and further my nursing experience in New Zealand I returned to the Royal
Marsden. I worked there for 5 years as a staff nurse and senior staff nurse caring for both medical
and surgical patients on a ward for upper gastointestinal, colorectal and urological cancers before starting at St Mark’s Hospital in 2010 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
I am a member of the pouch team, 3 CNS’ who provide pre-operative and post-operative care to
patients undergoing pouch surgery. I am involved in the running of nurse-led clinics, a telephone
advice service and an email service. I am on the committee for the Red Lion Group – St Marks’
pouch support group which holds an information day annually. I have completed a Post Graduate in Advanced
Practice in Health and Social Care (Nursing) with distinction at City University.
