I've had to work along side Emily in many different situations on her ward with patients as i work in security. she is very professional with her work and puts so much effort into the care for the patients whether they're under her care or not. this week she showed amazing care and support to a mental health patient with learning difficulties she had on the ward, sometimes as security its hard dealing with patients but working along side Emily it made the job a lot easier as she kept the patient at ease a lot better than we could as she is a very likeable person and easy to get along with as shown from some of the most difficult patients from a mental health background. I'm supposed to be a patient in queens some time this year and could only hope to have a nurse like emily on my ward as she goes above and beyond her duty for the patients.

I am used to being in hospitals, but as a student, but it felt completely different to be on the other side as a patient. Emily went out of her way to make me comfortable, having initially looked after me on SAU then when I had to come back into the hospital after suffering complications from my surgery, she made sure to visit me despite it not being her responsibility as I was on a different ward. The continuity of care was beyond excellent, and made what had promised to be two long nights in hospital over the Christmas period much easier to deal with. Emily is a real pleasure to be around and goes well beyond her duties.
