I’m a stuff member of Romford hospital who works along side Nurse Emily Petersen and wanted to write a review as I don’t think she gets enough credit for what she dose. Security was called to a mental health patient on Emily’s ward who was being aggressive and uncooperative in letting the stuff do there job When we arrived Emily was in the rock with the elderly patient. She was calming them down and reassuring them that they was in a safe place and nobody was there to Harm them ,the patient was in some discomfort as they was finding it hard to breathe with out breathing equipment, they refused to put mask on Emily managed to calm him down and get the mask on to assist with there breathing. And Carry out medical treatment they required, When ever i attend a call to Emily’s ward. She aways providing amazing service if it to the patient, making sure they ok and there not in any pain or stress. Answering any problems or questions they have about there medical treatment , Or to the family’s reassuring that paitent is ok and answering any concerns they have with what’s happing. She aways seems to go above the call of duty with in the work place and provides excellent care , she happy to take her brake late if it to help a paitent and happy to stay after her shift to make sure everyone is happy on her ward Having stuff with the skill and passion that Nurse Emily has makes the job of security and other stuff member a Pleasant and happy work place. I Would be more then happy if I was paitent on Emily’s ward and got treated how she treats her paitent. Five start stuff members makes, shows what the NHS is built on

Emily exhibited consistent care and clear communication. She was very capable in using all the tools, blood pressure monitor, barcode scanners, etc, etc. She was even teaching other nurses how to use the barcode scanning machine for the blood transfusion I needed. Her instructions and demonstration were very clear and comprehensive that I even knew how to use it after seeing as a patient. I loved the way she introduced herself and would always enter with a smile and sincere concern not just in her listening but her observation of patients. She also showed great resolve and energy levels, being as 'fresh & alert' at the end of her long shift as she was at the beginning. I do hope her all the best in her career, she truly is an asset to the Trust. Please take care of her, she is a strong confident & pleasant team player.

Emily was brilliant in what was a horrible day for all our family. She looked after Mum and took care of her every minute as well as us too.
