From the Surgeon (Andrew Macdonald), His Registrar and SHO, the anesthetist (Joanne Rogers), Theater Staff including Claire Shorrocks, HDU (Nurse Rhea) Ward A4 (Particularly Katherine) the lovely young Doctor who came in the middle of the night to re-site a canula and all other staff involved in my care (domestics porters pharmacy) and everybody else THANK YOU. What a brilliant lot you ALL are. Unfortunately Mr Macdonald has left for pastures new. I wish him well and hope that all of you above continue to flourish. THANK YOU AGAIN.
Faultless. I received brilliant care here. Great facility, clean, excellent equipment and above all, wonderful staff in all departments I came into contact with. Keep up the good work!
Hardworking, helpful and friendly staff who really go the extra mile for their patients
I had my second baby at the birth center in Wythenshawe hospital and could not ask for a more kind and caring team. The midwives were very attentative and very caring, I felt very looked after and I was very happy with the hospital facilities and cleaness.
From any hours of waiting in Wythenshawe A&E I have noticed. that when nurses call out the name of the patient they wish to treat they generally do so from the back of the Reception area I.e. they do not come forward to the entrance to the Waiting room.
Bearing in mind that the noise level in the reception and waiting areas is often raised and that older patients in particular may well have reduced hearing, it can be difficult to distinguish names. The problem is more noticeable with the lighter voices of female nurses but it would surely help patients if all nurses took a few extra steps to the entrance to the Waiting room before speaking. Apart from improved clarity this would be a more personal approach than the present system.
I hope you will give this serious consideration - its implementation will cost nothing!
The care given by the staff can only be described as "being treated like one of their own family members".
All the staff irrespective of their role were attentive and friendly. The staff in particular caring for me after my operation and my overnight stay could not do enough for their patients, nothing was too much trouble.
A credit to the hospital, ward and staff themselves.
The hospital and ward were extremely clean again credit to all concerned.
I went to the A&E dept of Wythenshawe Hospital on Sat 6th Feb 2016 with a complaint of chest pain. The treatment I received from when I stepped in to when I left was great. The receptionist and the triage nurse were warm, welcoming and reassuring, Macey who did the ECG was caring and polite.
When I finally saw the Doctor- Dr Louise Morgan, she made me feel confident that everything needed to be done to find the cause of my pain would be done. I could see that the department was very busy that morning but I did not feel that I was being rushed out of the consulting room , she arranged for the X-ray, did the physical check, explained what she was doing and gave myself and my husband time to ask questions.
I am impressed and just want to say thank you for the good and selfless work you do.
The only room for improvement would be re: time spent waiting to be seen - maybe more staff needed.
Waited 3 hours in A&E waiting room after being hit by a car.
My experience on this occasion was generally good, although waiting times were extended by the lack of free porters/wheelchairs and an insistence that patients perfectly capable of walking from one ward to another wait for a wheelchair to become available.
Everybody on the ward were so helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them.
