The staff were wonderful - efficient, caring and attentive. I was worried about my scan results and the mammography operator, radiologist, and nurse (Sally) were understanding and sensitive. I wholly appreciate the care shown today. Thank you.
Pain relief medication was never given when requested while on the ward and intact at times I had to wait upto 2 hours after asking to actually be given it.
The intravenous antibiotics I needed I had to constantly chase too as I was meant to have them 4 times a day and the nurses needed to be constantly reminded of this and then I had to chase them at least twice each drugs round before I ever had them administered.
very good hospital very clean very friendly staff highly recommend this hospital both my self and my husband have been treated at this hospital and the stay was very good
The care I received at the breast clinic was first class. I was treated with courtesy and in a caring and friendly way at all times. I was listened to and kept informed throughout. I was delighted. When I was told something would done it was and when the individual said it would.
All the staff were incredibly helpful and very supported I was overwhelmed by the care
Great care from all staff, utmost professionalism too.
I was referred to the Breast Clinic by my GP and received a phone message within two hours, then the referral details came in the post the next day for my appointment a week later.
This is just the sort of reassuringly efficient service you need at times of worry.
The Clinic was punctual, inviting, friendly and well run. The consultant I saw, Mr SK Farid Ahmed was reassuring and very easy to talk to. I did not feel rushed which I appreciated greatly.
I have two concerns. The first was the letter I received about my followup appointment after the surgery. It told me to report to the breast unit, and said my breasts would be examined and so on. I know that men sometimes have breast cancer, but I was not one of them and I thought I had been sent a letter intended for someone else. The contents of the letter could be more patient specific, not just a standard departmental letter.
Also, the signage to the breast unit is almost no existent. I initially had to ask for directions at reception, and there is little direction en route. Many patients using this unit will be under stress, and don't need to be wondering where to go.
I was treated in day surgery on two occasions for breast cancer, all the staff were very caring, helpful and I felt wonderfully looked after.
Also in the breast clinic itself the staff are amazing, when I was having my first biopsy I was very tearful and the staff were so kind to me and they have treated me so well at all the appointments I have been to.
My review refers to the Breast Unit at Wycombe General Hospital, which I found to be 1st Class and a credit to the British National Health Service.
