I was attending the hospital for a hemi-thyroidectomy and every member of staff who I came into contact with over the two days I was in the hospital were friendly, approachable and caring. The pre-assessment team in Chanctonbury Ward, the anaesthetic team, the nurses in Recovery and the nursing team and catering team on Chiltington Ward. Nothing was too much trouble, from helping me go the the bathroom to suggesting foods that would be easier to eat following the operation. The hospital was very busy and I was only there for a short time but it was only to recover from the operation and ensure I was medically okay to leave, so I could continue to recover at home. I found I didn't get much sleep as other patients on the ward were noisy during the night so I just wanted to get home to sleep properly. The hospital is there for emergency purposes and isn't a recuperation facility or hotel. I felt very comfortable in the hospital and the staff were amazing, they were cheerful and looked after me very well. I would definitely recommend Worthing Hospital to all my friends and family.
