I was extremely well looked after and I strongly recommend being anaesthetised from the spine rather than a general anaesthetic because you are awake during your operation so your recovery is much faster. The only way to improve is on money being invested by the government to provide more beds and renovations. Also more staff so doctors and nurses aren’t overworked. Honestly how can you encourage people to go into this profession on such low salaries and exhausting hours. Government step up !!

Having had a stent fitted at the William Harvey hospital Cardiac department on the 9th September 2019 I could not be more grateful to the doctors, technicians and nurses that looked after me before, during and after the procedure was carried out, having to stay in bed for 4 hours after the stent was fitted I had the opportunity to watch the goings on in the department, apart from the various procedure appointments that had been arranged they also had several emergencies brought in whilst I was being prepared for my appointment and while I was recovering, the way they dealt with these as well as the arranged patients was quite amazing, the professionalism and calmness was a joy to watch, the nurses were very hard working as well as being very caring and despite having such a heavy workload cold not have been more considerate, it made you feel more like a friend that they were looking after , thank you to all the staff at William Harvey cardiac unit.

As parents this Hospital is awful when we arrived for our Son's Surgery told to go and buzz into the other door, then were sent back to the original door! We then stood in the corridor for ages no-one came so we had to enter and walk around the ward until we found Nurses just chatting at their station, then we were told he was not down for Surgery and to go and sit in the waiting room and until someone checks. No Care, consideration or kindness at all by the Nurses towards our Son who was only 10! Ward dirty no-one came to check on our Son at regular intervals after the surgery we were told his blood pressure had dropped during the night and would send Dr to see him no-one ever bothered to come back until the Dr's did their ward round and told us we could go home which I was very glad to go. Breakfast on the children's ward was offered at 10.00am who gives breakfast to children at this time. Dreadful Hospital in our opinion this Hospital needs to be closed disgusting dirty and no care or kindness towards any of the patients. It is a shame the Dr's who looked after our Son are absolutely lovely and professional but not the Ward Staff.

Whilst a patient under the care of Mr Harinath, the anaesthetic team led by Mr Barry Featherstone & the Critical Care Team - Pete, Emma & Gemma, you all as part of a team saved my life during and after surgery, i can never thank any of you enough for the care you gave me, absolutely First Class treatment - Thank you. The staff in the Channel Day Suite & Rotary Suite, thank you for the post operative care you gave me, my only regret was being moved from the Rotary Suite to another ward which i will not name, but was so glad to leave, due to numerous poor quality care issues,
