Further to my review about my Mum on Kewstoke Ward. I have found tucked away within her notes Documents for End of Life. The last Days of Patient I was never informed within this 5 page document it mentions agreed with daughter (again) falsified) One page the doctor wants to speak to the daughter never informed of that. There nearly all day the last day. Not informed about the above. Disgraceful treatment

I totally agree the review of the person writing of Berrow Ward, My Mum was taken in with sepsis and pnuemonia and then discharged according to the notes the day after.given dreadful treatment by untrained staff, placed between 2 dementia pàtients kept asking for a drink. The staff advised no time to bring the drink trolley round.never gave her a drink, paid for the notes, they were falsified. Jewellery was taken.it was left on the ward 2 weeks after she passed away through lack of care . and items missing. They are not concerned. She was not treatment with any dignity or respect.She was taken in again a few days after she was discharged. No care and training on Kewstoke Ward

Overrall terrible experience of care at Weston hospital for my Mother especially on Berrow ward. Two thirds of the staff are not doing their job as a nurse/ nursing assistant should. I watched how they behaved for hours when visitng my Mother Uncaring treatment, my Mother was shouted at and treated roughly on more than one occasion in my presence She was told that she was well enough to be discharged only to die a few hours later. I was left a with a young trainee who had just started her training. The rest of the staff ignored my Mother after calling the doctor who took nearly 1 and half hours to come. During that time no nurse or nursing assistant came to see how she was they were too busy doing handover, chatting and getting the records up to date at the end of the day. When the doctor did come it was too late. She did not take the time and trouble to speak to me about it all, she just left. I kept a record of all the things that were wrong every day. The list is very long and would take too long to list here. I had to make several formal complaints. This was a long line of bad experiences of Weston hospital over the years. They did not seem to care about my Mother. Some junior doctors were rude, you ask a question in anormal voice and you are snapped at, rude nursing staff one especially was nasty, the one who shouted at my Mother because she could not understand her. I could go on much longer listing all the incidents but would take too long. A nightmare. I am so sorry for the patients who do not have family to stand for them.

Financially the hospital has been on it's backside for years, if you can crawl or walk to Musgrove in Taunton you have less chance of dying. Having seen four people suffer neglect and incompetence that cost 2 their lives at Weston General- the place is a serious health risk. Flat on my back and admitted to Weston Hospital, I was discharged purely on financial grounds according to a nurse who said I was ill enough to be admitted in Poland. Junior doctor confirmed what nurse said. Then retarded as it is a doctor in hospital needs your GP to refer you- even though they know issue first hand. Useless
