I took my father to the West Suffolk Hospital A&E department with a possible stroke. Within 8 minutes of arrival in the department he had been assessed by the stroke team, and within 20 minutes was on his way for a CT scan. On confirmation of the stroke he was transferred to G8. Yes, we had to wait a while to actually get moved to the ward but it’s not the staff’s fault so it was no point in complaining about it. He remained on the ward for 2 days prior to being discharged. From start to finish I couldn’t fault any member of staff we came into contact with. They were polite, professional and thorough in their caregiving. Rather than staff being rude, it was amazing at how tolerant the staff were. Some patients and visitors were so disrespectful of the staff it was embarrassing to watch. Well done WSH, keep up the good work
