I always feel safe & well cared for at West Suffolk Hospital, whether at A&E, on ward or attending outpatients

After being told that I had a telephone consultation with a Dr, the hospital then sent me a letter to confirm the appointment but that I had to go IN to the hospital at the date and time stated. I called them to confirm this as I had been told previously that it would be a telephone consultation and they confirmed that yes, I had to attend. So imagine my frustration and annoyance when I received a phone call from the hospital an hour before my appointment to say they were very sorry and that it IS a telephone consultation. I was on the train, literally just pulling into Bury Station!!!! This meant that in a panicked rush I had to make my way home to Ipswich in time for the telephone call!! I JUST made it! I have complained and asked for a refund of my fares as this was already an expense I struggled to find. This has been agreed but we are now at almost 1 month and I've received nothing yet. When I enquired I was told, "It can take a while". Whilst the lady helping me with my complaint has been helpful, the ladies that I have spoken with on the phone about my appointment etc have not been the most empathetic!

I recently received treatment at the West Suffolk Hospital and cannot speak highly enough of the care that was provided to myself. The Surgical,Anaesthetic,Theatre and Ward Staff were All excellent.

Very rude staff who felt it's not important to let you know what is going on regarding diagnosis or treatment. Facilities are dirty i.e blood on bed sheets and toilets full of other people's mess. Stains on pillow case.

THE PERSONAL CENTRED CARE ,THE EMPATHY ,PROFESSIONALISM, BY ALL STAFF WAS TESTAMOUNT TO WHY THE NHS IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD. WE NEED TO SUPPORT OUR HOSPITALS AND ALL THE WONDERFUL STAFF THAT GIVE SO MUCH TO SUPPORT THEIR PATIENTS

I visited the day surgery on 27January 2020 and received excellent care from everyone involved. In particular Ann Louise in recovery, the anaesthetist and all the nurses on the ward were wonderful - extremely professional, friendly and kind. They all put me at ease and my experience was faultless.

I was asked by my GP to go to A & E Dept to check if I had suffered a mild stroke or heart problem. I arrived at 2 pm and by 5 pm I had been thoroughly checked having had a MRI an ECG and blood test which were all clear thankfully. What brilliant service delivered in a very caring way.
