I have had the pleasure of only using an A&E dept three times in my life and found the process ok, the triage was quick but the wait after that was 2.5 hours just to get seen and then another 2.5hours for test results etc, there was no communication as to how long your wait would be, there wasn’t enough seats for everyone, the floor was dirty and wet from a spillage, the signage for refreshments/ cafe area was very poor (ie didn’t know there was one until someone next to me came in with a coffee!) then finding it was a task on its own, the doctors didn’t have a simple measuring kit to check the swelling on my leg and had to improvise with a long piece of bandage!

Suggested improvements
Improve communication as to how long the wait is, improve signage for refreshments/ cafe, cleaner area, more seats, proper equipment for the doctors, reduce waiting times (as I was told when I was leaving that it wasn’t even busy!!!
