Review of Warwickshire Stop Smoking in Pregnancy Service
25th January 2024

Food was not required

Suggested improvements
Service was good and informative but the only thing that has helped me quit smoking is my vape that I pay for myself as the NHS doesn't prescribe anything other than weak disposable vapes that in my opinion are bad for the environment due to the batteries in them and they don't make them strong enough in nicotine for my needs 2mg isn't enough, if they made them in 6mg that would be much better but they don't, also they taste bad like sucking on soap most of them.

Review of General Surgery Day Surgery Unit
16th January 2024

Checking yesterday at 0730, I did not expect to be greeted at reception with such cheerfulness. Then the checking in process was courteous and respectful, staff, aneasthetist and surgeon were kind and thoughtful. Then, after a somewhat long wait, the long walk to the theatre - hopefully an improvement coming with the new building work? - to theatre check in, again every kindness shown, and onto the anaesthetists, who were helpful and witty, the surgery, thankfully, passed me by to awake on recovery feeling quite well. Back to the Day surgery unit, long haul again, and excellent attention and discharge mid afternoon. I felt I had my own personal BMW. Bravo Magnificent Warwick !

Suggested improvements
Occasional update from staff on when one was going to theatre and the long walk and stairs and walk to theatre. I did also comment on the food asking about scrambled egg with smoked salmon and shaved truffle, but somethings take longer......

Staff in corridors ask you if you need help, they are great. Parking is interesting but not impossible. The place is immaculate and I’ve never waited in queues to book into receptions. The excellent system they have of the patient waiting in one central area and staff collecting them to take to xray, plaster area and returning them to the next area or to the consultant area to see the doctor. I have made quite a few visits and never been there longer than 2.5 hours and this included X-rays, plaster cast and seeing the doctor. Superb hospital and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I travelled over 1 hour to come here whereas I have a local hospital that’s 10 minutes away but Warwick Hospital is definitely worth the journey.

Review of Cardiac Rehabilitation Service

I felt as though I was being cared for and not just being processed through a system

I feel that, for me personally, 8 weeks is not enough. I need the support of a group and the empathetic coaching that I cannot find elsewhere.

Review of A & E
30th December 2023

I brought my mum, Sheila, into A&E following 2 fainting episodes first thing in the morning on 2 consecutive days. All the staff who dealt with her were amazingly kind and respectful. First the triage nurse who was super efficient, and then we were taken to a bed in Res where many checks were done. We were cared for by Josh and Sian and Siad who were on duty on Saturday 30th December during the afternoon / early evening. They made her feel at ease and listened to as well as undertaking the medial checks they needed to do. They took time to explain things to me and to mum so we both knew what was happening and why. They took time to care for the whole person. Given it was a Saturday and over the Christmas period, I was really so grateful for the time and attention that they gave to her. Josh called me before finishing his shift to give me an update and to reassure me that she was doing well. You have an absolutely fantastic team in A&E. Thank you so much. (When I thanked Josh on the phone, he jokingly said I could write to his manager to let her know. So please pass on this message to Clare Wilson! Josh was fantastic!)

Review of A & E Parent / Carer Survey
27th December 2023

I’m not happy at all

Suggested improvements
We came in 3 times with our kids that clearly needed some antibiotics because of an ear infection and the first 2 times we were sent home with only paracetamol an ibuprofen , the first time my kid was. Checked on their ears and aparently she was hurt on her ear so next day we realised there was blood on her ear and 2 time once again to the hospital because she kept complaining and the fever wasn’t coming down and the once again she was sent home with paracetamol and ibuprofen and then a nurse ask me how do I clean my daughters ears Witch i reply with the towel or the corner of the towel Which she said that was the problem and she insinuated tha I hurt my child and to not worry that I will not be in trouble, I’m speechless I had no word to reply what she insinuated that was clearly not the issue , I’m really not happy what that nurse said to me I’m very angry and dissatisfied and disappointed not happy at all. Later that day we went to A/E once again we were there from 10:30 till16:30 and she was checked properly and seen properly to and clearly she has an ear infection we’re she was getting worse and thankfully everything was sorted and all this problem could be sorted since the first time we went To A/E and we didn’t need to come 3 times in there row for her been given the right medicine, although she’s much better now.
