I couldn't make any suggestions how they could improve the service, care and consideration. Every member of the nursing staff were absolutely first class, extremely kind and very informative about the procedures I have had.
First class National Health Service.
Many thanks to all the Staff.
I had an unexplained and prolonged fever. The concern was it may be turning septic. My gp and the hospital reacted immediately and delivered the correct treatment, largely eliminating my symptoms, and greatly reducing concern
Caring and compassionate staff who dealt with me in a timely and efficient manner.
Staff Nurses should carry out their job to the best of their ability instead of making patients/family members feel like they are an inconvenience.
We where seen quickly, I never felt we were waiting round to bee seen. The nurse and the doctor my son saw where friendly, kind and very approachable . They where amazing with my son. I felt my concerns where listened to and never felt I was wasting anyone's time. Cannot honetly fault the care my son received
The skilled, professional care gave confidence that I was receiving best practice and medically could not be bettered..
Where possible more information could be given on when and how long the various procedures/stages of treatment would take.
When first admitted to the ward information on "facilities" available would be helpful eg TV, meal times, toilets, washing, information book.
The free wi-fi was completely unusable, dropping out every 10 seconds, and could not even be used for e-mails. Access to the net was impossible.
It took a few days to adjust radiators which were making the ward far too hot.
Our midwifes who cares for us throughout our short stay on the ward were always polite, professional and knowledgeable. The advice given to me as a second time mum having had a caesarean delivery with my first and a VBAC with this delivery was invaluable and provided much reassurance to help with my recovery and knowing honestly what to expect.
I also liked having a very friendly and knowledgeable student midwife involved with our care.
The refreshments on the ward available for patients and partners were welcome but were cold by the time I went for a cup of tea at 5:00 after a long night and the tea ready brewed wasn’t very nice.
A quick, efficient and appropriate service from entry to exit.
The service in the wards was second to none. Every patient was given the same consideration and was treated with great respect and understanding. All requests were dealt with promptly, whether trivial or serious. There was a bright, friendly atmosphere in the ward which encouraged patients able to walk about, but did not undermine the quiet required by patients who were confined to bed.
Access to the internet was of great benefit to those in a position to use it, although access appeared to be subject to some control.
The only difficulty was the length of the wait for for admission from A&E. This was further complicated by the restricted information available at the admissions desk, especially when the night shift took over. My wait for a bed was from 1pm at lunchtime until 2am. That was beginning to cause me some distress as I became more tired. On reflexion, I recognise that A&E cannot be allowed to become too comfortable a refuge.
I wish to express my gratitude to all the wonderful staff of wards A1 and A3 for making my enforced weekend with them a pleasant and reassuring experience.
I gave birth at Warrington Hospital on 15th January 2019 & the post natal care on C23 was great. The midwives & care assistants were friendly & professional, nothing was too much trouble. I couldn’t get out of bed after an epidural & they were so helpful with my baby, and subsequently in getting me up & moving when I regained sensation in my legs. This is a far cry from the treatment I received from the C23 staff in 2017 (I wrote a review at the time)- suffice to say this time round my experience was so much better! I was dreading my time on the post natal ward, and although it’s still far too hot, noisy & crowded, this time round the staff were second to none & I felt much more comfortable there than I had done previously.
Special thanks to Rachael Flynn & Pauline from the ELCS team, they looked after me & my baby so well, and I’ll be forever grateful that they helped me to get up & on my feet, allowing me to go home to recover not even 24 hours after my c section. Another special mention to the ever wonderful Dr Kate Alldred- she has delivered both of my babies & from the minute i met her in ante natal clinic I’ve always felt like I’ve been in the absolute best hands. Down to earth, reassuring, knowledgeable, funny- she’s just an absolute star & the ladies & babies of Warrington are so lucky to have her!
Negatives: lack of space, lack of privacy, noisy, hot.
