I will not use this hospital if it was the last on earth. The standard of care, treatment and respect is the worst I have ever had the misfortune to experience. No one ever does what they promise, appointments are not kept, the eye Department is an administrative, care and treatment nightmare. Please make the journey to Manchester or Liverpool and avoid this Hospital if you need eye care

Review of Endoscopy Unit Warrington
6th June 2021

From the moment I walked in for my colonoscopy, I was treated with respect and kindness. The nurse who checked me in was thorough and polite and when I explained that I had hearing aids and could not understand because of the mask she went and put on the clear mask. The staff who performed the procedure were also superb. Dr Larry Loo and nurses Jenny Spencer and Zoey Mellor made certain I could hear everything. By choice, I was not sedated and Jenny held my hand throughout and asked me question to Get my mind off it. I was very nervous going in and they were great in settling my nerves.

Pleasant and welcoming experience, more like a hotel than a hospital. Adequate free parking.

Review of Ward A1 written by a patient
5th September 2020

The staff on the night shift discussed my confidential information (amongst themselves) very loudly and any patients who were unable to sleep (like myself) could hear. Some in particular were very derogatory. Questioning why I was in an NHS hospital - people like me should go private! . Stating that I was obviously not unwell & I was making it up! One threatened to urinate on my meals! There was talk about how they could find out information about my wife. And where I lived. Someone said it was a lovely area and how could someone like me live there! It took 2 days before I was given any of my regular medication, including inhalers for my respiratory condition, and my usual painkillers.

Suggested improvements
Perhaps take a lesson from the Staff in Ward B14 to which I was moved on the last day. The contrast between the B14 staff and those in A1 was like Chalk & Cheese. B14 couldn't do enough for me and treated me in a kind & caring way not like something they had stood in.

Review of Endoscopy Unit Warrington written by a patient
28th August 2020

I was sat waiting in a gown for nearly an hour behind the bed curtains not knowing if I had been forgotten or not until I went to the desk to ask. An explanation or apology would have been appreciated as I was waiting to go in for an unpleasant procedure.

The ongoing care and support that I have received from practitioners and supporting professional care staff has been first-class. Every step of the way, they have shown empathy and professional support. There diligence in recommending wider tests, has helped me manage my ongoing health condition.

Review of Ward A6 written by a patient
12th May 2020

Regarding my stay 10th & 11th May. Overall I think that treatment & care were handled very well and although I admit to having a bad memory for people's names, for which I apologise, I'd single out both Jonathan and Sophie for their care. My complaint would be that the ward was very noisy on the night of Sunday 10th, mainly from some of the patients but also to a lesser extent the overnight staff. I'd also like to commend Dr Winter from the ACU (?) unit who provided some much needed laughter when he was consulting with a Polish gentleman & his interpreter. Overall and under the circumstances, a satisfactory experience. My Kind regards to all (Charles) Stuart Edwards

Review of Ambulatory Care written by a patient
3rd March 2020

From the moment I entered the hospital I was treated with kindness and compassion by all of the staff. This included the A & E and all the others who I came in contact with. Especially the staff and doctors in the Ambulatory Care. The doctor was really good explained everything to me and treated me as an adult never speaking down to me or being condescending.
