A member of my family was unexpectedly very unwell and consequently seen by Professor Bittar as an inpatient in Blackpool. The patient journey from admission, care on Citu, ward 39 through to surgery and discharge was well managed and driven by what my relative needed. Aside from the excellent clinical care Professor Bittar, his medical team and the nursing teams provided, what really struck us as a family was the patience, time and compassion shown to us as we tried to make sense of things at one of the most vulnerable times in our family life. This made all the difference to us and helped us trust that our relative was in safe hands. It also helped us to cope with the seriousness of what was happening at that time. We honestly cannot thank Professor Bittar and his colleagues enough for what they have done - which is to give us years of life together as a family - thank you!

I had a C-section at this hospital and had to stay in due to my baby being ill, I can't express enough how much I am so proud of the midwives and drs that were involved in my care and my babies, they were so kind helpful and couldn't do enough. Also with the virus going round they used PPE at all times when caring for me and my baby which made me at ease all three my lovely stay, the food was amazing and always on time. C-section date: 09/04/2020 Time: 11:20am If I could thank every midwife and Dr that dealt with me face to face I would proudly do it just hope you see this.

I was initially seen in the outpatients department in the Cardiac centre at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and this was followed by admission and surgery to remove a small cancer in my lung. As a non-smoker this has been a terrible shock. However the treatment and consideration I have received from Professor Bittar's surgical team, the nurses in critical care and the nursing staff on the ward was professional and caring. All of which helped to ease my recovery. The hospital is modern and welcoming, and the communication that I have had with Professor Bittar's Secretary has been extremely pleasant and helpful.

My experience within Blackpool Victoria Hospital was excellent. I had an operation performed by Mr Bittar and am feeling great now. The hospital was very clean and the staff were fantastic with me from entering to leaving. I honestly can't think of how they could have made my visit any better.

What more can I say ................ Other than I received fantastic care and treatment not just by the medical team, but by the everyone from cleaning services to Physio staff and Cleaning staff. I received great care following both my Hip replacement and was discharged from the hospital in less than 2 1/2 days stay. Thank you so much

I would definitely recommend this hospital for Cardio, having been in appreciation of the work undertaken for 15 years. For the most recent AVR, for which I have written a review, the end to end of what was provided was very good indeed, and the oncome superb. However, the nurses at intensive care seemed to be short staffed. A well publicised national problem of Nurse shortage, but it would be wrong of me not to notice. Always wonder how Blackpool copes with so much paper in the workflow, but they seem to make it work. Would not think of going anywhere else for Cardio.

I recently spent 8 days in ICU and the Lancashire Cardiac centre and these must be the best nurses in the UK. The care that I received was second to none and I left the hospital feeling I was leaving part of my family behind. Nothing was too much trouble for them and their concern for me was so genuine and sincere. What an amazing team of nurses.

I had lung surgery in July 2019 The treatment I received from all the ward nursing team was wonderful and off a high level The environment was clean and tidy and I felt the nursing team treated me with dignity and respect. The only slight comment I have, was the sister on the ward. I know it is hard to deal with bed management, which may cause Individual work stress (obvious what she was doing, looking for people to discharge) but she should take lessons from the nursing ward staff, adopting empathy and compassion instead of abruptness in her communication style when conversing with patients. Other than this little negative point, (one person out of a full team is not bad) the whole experience of being treated in Blackpool hospital was very positive and I would recommend the high standard of nursing care to my friends and family.

The care I received in the CCU heart department was second to none, to have your own nurse watching you day and night was very comforting and reassuring.
